Cape Codders live close to the elements, in daily interaction with the wind, the sun and the breeze. Our work is scoured by the tide's ebb and flow, completed in the sun's bright glare, and fueled with cups of hot clam chowder.
Mary Petiet is a reporter, writer and story teller. Her work is frequently inspired by her native Cape Cod, where she covers the local farm beat for Edible Cape Cod magazine. Mary is the author of Minerva’s Owls (Homebound Publications, April 2017), a book remembering the divine feminine to reenvision the world. She is a contributing author to the Girl God Anthology, Jesus, Muhammad and the Goddess, and Wildness: Voices of the Sacred Landscape. She has published a selection of essays and articles in a variety journals and magazines, and she writes a featured column for the website Seeking Bliss Every Day. A graduate of the University of St Andrews, Mary works as a reporter and is the host of the radio podcast Kitchen Table Mystic. A member of the Steeple Street Poets, she is currently working on a volume of poetry as she records the history of her Cape Cod community through The Barnstable Village Living History Project.
